The Collaborative Innovation Center for Ecological Security in Western China (hereinafter referred to as the Center), led by Lanzhou University, was recognized by the Ministry of Education as the Collaborative Innovation Center for Ecological Security in Western China in 2018. It is now an entity scientific research institution of Lanzhou University, with the relevant research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, relevant universities in western China, and some provincial scientific and technological institutions as its main cooperative units. In order to continuously improve the efficiency of collaboration and integration, improve the scientific research level of ecological security in the western region, and provide technical support and decision-making consultation for ecological security issues in the western region, the Center sets up open topics in accordance with the principle of "openness, competition and fairness", and supports open topics related to the main research directions of the Center.
The application for the project of 2021 opening to the public has started. We warmly welcome the domestic and foreign researchers who are engaged in related fields to actively apply for the project.

First, subject setting

3. Declaration requirements
1. Applicants should be under the age of 45, have a deputy senior title or above or a doctor's degree, and are engaged in related scientific research work in institutions of higher learning, research institutions and business units.
2. Only when the following conditions are met can the thesis be concluded:
(1) Funders will carefully implement the project contents according to the application form, and submit the project summary report and academic achievement certification materials at the end of the project implementation period.
(2) Two papers from core journals or above are required to be published (including one SCI paper), and the first signature of at least one of them should be marked with "Collaborative Innovation Center for Western Ecological Safety, Lanzhou University" in English or "Collaborative Innovation Center for Western Ecological Safety, Lanzhou University" in Chinese. The research results of the project shall be shared by the center and the researcher's institution.
(3) The Research results and related works of the funded projects shall be marked with "Supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities of Lanzhou University" and their serial numbers (in English: Supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities).
(4) The person in charge of the project that has not been concluded shall attend the annual academic meeting held by the Center and report the progress of the project.
3. Application process
1. Applicants should carefully fill in the Application Form for Opening Project of Collaborative Innovation Center for Ecological Security in Western China, and send the electronic version to ciwes@lzu.edu.cn before 18:00 on April 25, 2021. The subject of the email and the name of the application should be "Name +2021 Opening Project".
2. The Center will evaluate the application for the first time, and answer the application on site or on the Internet. Detailed arrangements will be announced later.
3. For the subjects passed in the field defense, the application form (in duplicate) shall be sent to the central office after being approved and stamped by the supervisor of the unit.
