一、中心简介（Basic information）
西部生态安全省部共建协同创新中心由兰州大学牵头组建，主要协同单位有中科院相关研究所，西部相关高校，部分省属科技机构，是全国第一批、甘肃省第一个省部共建协同创新中心，现为兰州大学实体科研机构。中心紧扣国家建设“美丽中国”发展战略和“一带一路”倡议，重点围绕“多圈层相互作用及其环境气候效应、气候变化对水资源及生态系统的影响、寒旱区生态系统修复与生物多样性保护、沙漠化治理与沙尘暴防治、水土流失防治与水资源安全、集成示范与区域发展”六大方向开展协同创新研究。
Lanzhou University is one of the national top universities in China. The Collaborative Innovation Center for Western Ecological Safety (CIWES) is a scientific research institution entity of Lanzhou University. It is a provincial collaborative innovation center established by the Ministry of Education. The main cooperating units are relevant institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, relevant universities in western China, and some provincial science and technology institutions. CIWES has 12 national key disciplines, in which the Earth Sciences, Environment, Ecology and Agronomy, Plant & Animal Science are the ESI global total impact top disciplines. CIWES sticks to the Belt and Road Initiative, and focuses on six major research directions, including multi-layer interactions and their environmental and climatic effects, impact of climate change on water resources and ecosystems, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation, desertification control and sandstorm prevention, soil erosion control and security of water resource, and Integrated demonstration and regional development, to carry out collaborative innovation research.
CIWES is looking for outstanding talents interested in ecological safety , to jointly explore scientific and technological solutions to the problems of ecological security in western China.
